Back to: Day 8 – Journaling
The previous couple days, you’ve explored the meaning of attachment, the things you feel attached to, and the sensations that creates. Now, let’s get a little bit deeper. Attachment is closely related to fear. How? Because when we are attached to something, we feel afraid of losing it. Maybe you’re afraid of losing your parents, your home, your health, or even your life (spoiler: so is everyone else). In this journaling exercise, you’ll explore the relationship between attachment and fear. Write for a total of at least 10 minutes, exploring the prompts below, or whatever else may come up for you. (Journaling playlist)
What are three things or people you’re afraid of losing?
What would a day in your life look like without these three things?
Take a moment and visualize yourself without them. How does it make you feel?
Would it change who you are as a person if these things or people were not in your life?
Are you okay with releasing control of owning these things or people?
